Can you Quit with Vaping?

Recommended Posts

So my husband has been dipping since he was a kid, I got him to try the gum, no good.  So he decides to try vaping.  I was unsure but i have heard decent things about vape. so i stayed positive.  But now i am very worried he has been replacing some dips with the vape, but mostly he will dip and then us the vape.  Isn't this just increasing his amount of nicotine?  And any time i mention it he just gets mad at me.  I know i personally don't dip, i just dont have anyone else to talk to, and so many questions.

Ask away and folks will try to answer them. Bottom line is this addiction is terribly hard to conquer, but it is possible. This site is a great tool to help accomplish that goal. Not to familiar with vaping, but headlines recently have said it could be worse than smoking. That aside, nicotine is nicotine in whatever form you choose to ingest it.

Before any method can work, he must really want to quit. Sounds to me like he is doubling-down on further entrenching his nicotine addiction.

In 2006, before I ever found this forum, I made up my mind to quit no matter what it took. I used nicotine gum as a crutch, but I had an end game goal of ditching the gum, which I did after about 3 months. The gum still supplied nicotine, but it was at a much reduced rate that I felt like I was constantly in a near-withdrawal state. When I finally began my trip back to freedom in earnest, I used a number of methods to deal with withdrawal and, then, triggers that bothered me to a less degree for a period of time after the actual nicotine withdrawal was over (by no more than 5 days).

But through it all, I was dead serious about regaining my freedom from slavery to nicotine.
