Today's MAD: 8 total

Swimming MAD total: 4

Total Running MAD: 4961.3 miles since 1/2/2010

Weight: 208 - Still at 1400 calories a day, just not coming off like I would hope.

I actually went outside and ran for the first time in about a month.  I've only been running on the treadmill during a cardio class which is always intervals.   I ran the first mile then had to turn to the run/walk.   That poor performance made me realize that I need to start training for the 5K in October.  WTH, train for a 5K?  That's sounds weird but I've let myself get out of running shape.

March 4 - Anthem 4.7K - 25:53

March 18 - Rodes 10K - 57:52

April 1 - Papa John's 10 Miler - 1:44:05

October 21 - EKU Homecoming 5K

August 19, 2017

The still no running story continues.  This morning I tried hiking a local trail to access some alpine to look for a meat buck.  Took me well over an hour to get to the shelter at the beginning of the alpine, as well as having to do multiple rest stops.  I knew I was out of shape, but not this bad.  I noticed my right hip wasn't functioning right, so when the fog laid in and I realized besides being soaked from sweat, I would most likely hurt myself if I did try to pack out a load.

I did renew my year membership at the pool, but I still haven't had a chance to go work out.  I've got a lot of cardio to get back before November and the rut.

Yo!  Things are still crazy.  I have been able to get some good training runs in the last few weeks.  Last Saturday I tripped on the trail and my water bottle bashed my ribs and I think I bruised a rib.  Been painful for a week.  Went for a run this morning and I ended up wiping out two more times.  Now my elbow, knee, and toe are fooked.  I am a hot mess!  My pace per mile and my legs have been feeling really good though.  I think my plant based diet has something to do with it??  Looks like our house sale is officially a done deal.  We have to move out before I go to Oregon.  Its going to be a crazy few weeks.  Just wanted to check in.  Hope ya'll are doing well.  Cheers!

August 21, 2017

Was pouring down like mad, but had a chance to hit the pool for a quit visit.  Did a quick 1.25 on the treadmill at 6mph.  felt good, and left it at that.  Hoping to keep up small runs for a bit to get back into the groove of things.

Putting in a few more miles.  I did 5 yesterday, although I still ran/walked.

Today's MAD: 12.8 total

Swimming MAD total: 4.5

Total Running MAD: 5012.1 miles since 1/2/2010

Weight: 206 - Change after going off the meds.

A trail run and a great 6.3 run with my workout buddy, Batman.   He is a 72 year old super hero.   He is boosting his mileage to so he can run on a charity bid at the Boston Marathon.  His dream is to run it with his son, who is a 4 time Boston finisher.  Batman ran a marathon 30 years ago, so it isn't totally new to him.  At 72, he pushes me everyday at every workout.  I'm stronger than him with the weights but he can stretch my limits on body weight exercises.  How many people do you know that can do 30 pull-ups?

March 4 - Anthem 4.7K - 25:53

March 18 - Rodes 10K - 57:52

April 1 - Papa John's 10 Miler - 1:44:05

October 21 - EKU Homecoming 5K

November 12 - ???? Louisville Half-Marathon - if I feel up to it.

September 16, 2017

Headed back to work on Monday following three well needed weeks of time off.  Spent most of it helping my best friend finish out the commercial troll season for Coho Salmon.  Made almost 2K during that time, so that is an added bonus.  I decided to renew my pool/gym membership, so hopefully I'll be able to start using wellness time and slowly start putting some mileage back on and intermixing some runs into some floor climbing and possibly some swimming (I am not a water person so this may be interesting) in order to get ready for rut hunting and to start the beginning of the training for next May and August (POW marathon and Skinny Raven 49K).
