So recently, I sort of came across a new quit method for myself. Yeah all the replacement and stuff works, but this is doing wonders for me. I feel like it is cleaning my brain out of all the bad thoughts that would be triggers to make me cave.

I have been writing letters to myself. Kooky as that sounds, it's been helping me immensely. All you do is write a little something to yourself. Get your ideas down on paper, and read them over. I find that by doing this, I get my ideas down, read them over, and realize how fucking stupid I sound trying to justify packing a fatty. Also, tell yourself what's going good and what problems you have. Sometimes doing that can remind you of what a good job your doing and can keep you motivated to remain quit. Similarly, getting what's bugging you down on paper, can help you realize what is really a problem, and what is you being a crybaby.

I've been doing this for a couple weeks now (not every day, just when I get a crave) and it's working wonders. I confront the cave head on, and I punch it in the face and tell it to fuck off.

Before I wrote this, I was craving a bit, so I'll do an example of what I have been doing below.

Dear Me,

196 days quit, and your still going strong. You want a dip real bad right now, don't you? Well what fucking good is that? You're only going to regret it if you do that. And you know that too. Remember what happened last time you caved? How did you feel after that. Don't pretend like you don't know, and don't try to say that it didn't suck that bad. You felt like a complete fuckface, and you know it. Do you wanna go back to that state? I don't think so. Besides, one dip is a slippery slope. Let's face it, if you went out and bought a can right now, you wouldn't be able to have one dip and then throw the rest away. Your a cheap bastard. I know you too well. If you spent $4.50 on a can of Griz right now, you would dip it until the can was gone because you wouldn't want to waste the money spent. And then when it's all gone, you are back to square one on the cycle. You will want, "just one" more, and it will turn into another can. That's what happened last time. And going back to you being a cheapskate. Your job DOESN'T PAY YOU SHIT! You have a school year to be saving for. You have just about 2 months to save money for school and you haven't saved that much. That ain't all your fault though. They won't pay you more, they won't give you more hours, and you can't find a second/ new job as of right now. The bottom line is that YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO BE BUYING TINS OF DIP! Also, you have a dentist appointment coming up in August. For the last 6 or so months, you have been taking care of your mouth. Why would you want to start the cycle over again of tearing your gums up? It just doesn't make sense. Now you get it. You don't want a dip anymore do you? I didn't think so. There is LITERALLY NO REASON TO DO IT!

Keep up the good work man. Your doing fine, but you know what needs to be done, and you know how to get it done. Get it done today, tomorrow, and forever.

Love you bro.

Signed,
Me
