its gonna be hard to pick against any hendricks racer this year. i'd like to see harvick build on last year and be a stronger title contender.

The shootout was surprisingly good. Seems like NASCAR finally pulled their head of their ass and are letting the drivers drive.

Did anyone else notice it didn't take nearly the same amount of track for the train to get up to speed? The COT, now the Car of Today, as goofy ass as it looks, works?

it was a successful race, imo
you really don't think about how it looks when its goin 200 mph, either
the drivers had more control when they got loose
there really wasn't a 'big one'
i know that dissappointed some, i'm sure
more racing and fewer cautions is a good thing

I am not tring to bash nascar, but the new car stinks. Teams feild 4 and 5 cars. Nascar use to be everyone for themself, and no team orders. I am a fan of the NHRA and i see multi car teams throw a race now and then to help out other teamates. Nascars COT is making races bland. Martainsville and Bristol to me are the 2 most exciting races. The new car makes no differance there.

it wasn't the new car that changed the bristol race
they resurfaced the track and changed the whole dynamic of the race
they widened the track and changed the banking of the turns
ruined it, imo

Jeff Gordon Fan Here....so lets get the insults over quickly. Been a big fan of nascar for years upon years now, and just not impressed with all name changes. Nascar is tryin to make this a family sport when its roots are firmly planted in shit. Nationwide series ,Sprint cup series, Safer cars and walls. I am all for change and Safety but where the excitement. Where's the holy crap did u see that finish and/or wreck!!! This yr so far has been pretty uneventful.

Anyone who is interested, I'm a pretty big racing nut. I admin a forum that covers the IRL, F1, NHRA, and NASCAR and we are looking to grow our members. We are at 21 members so far, but would like to see that number grow considerably. If you are interested just drop by and register, (it's a private forum so you won't be able to access the forums until you register). Hope to see as many of you quit brothers as possible.

I've don't really watch or follow Nascar, but I think I'm going to go to the Pennsylvania 500 in the Pocono's this year. I heard its not a great race, but I'm going to head up there to kayak and hike, so I figured I'd catch my first race too.

get there early in the morning and take in the full atmosphere
if you can, camp out and enjoy it more
its amazing to see how fast they are in person
rent a radio as well so you can listen to the the teams talk to their drivers
i've never heard anyone say they had a bad at a race

10-4 on the Clint Bowyer and the 07 JD team there, Salvo....just saw my first race - the CC 600 at Charlotte just a couple of weeks ago with three animals from the other site. Bowyer had a shitty day....actually was the first to pit - something about debree from the track messing with air intake...causing the car to run hot....friggin' hotdog wrappers and some other crap. There was only one other guy in my section of the stands with a JD hat on, and when the 07 car pitted, everyone and their brother was looking at me as if to say..."hey man..you see your boy in the pit??"....... I see him, damnit!!

He never did get higher than 25th...at least that I noticed.
Seeing the race live does add an all new dimension. I'm hoping to catch the Bristol race in the fall.......have fun.

any guesses who Hendricks will replace Casey Mears with?
Reed Sorenson?
Jamie McMurray?
It's hard telling. They can probably get anyone they want. Ryan Newman may even be a good fit over there, I though about Kurt Busch, but I don't think they will have any Busch's over there again. Kasey Kahne may even be someone they would go for. It will be interesting.

i agree with that. But ever since Johnson come up they don't seem to be interested in developing younger talent. They really didn't do too good for Vickers, Kyle Busch just didn't seem to be a good personality fit for them, and I really don't know what to say about Casey Mears. I'm a Reed Sorenson fan, and I'd love to see him change teams where I think he would have a chance and be able to develop better than the team he is with, but I don't think Hendricks is the team for a young driver. I think you hit the nail on the head when you compared them to the Yankess cuz that is exactly how they are.
