I have been chewing for 17 years and truly enjoyed, until 3 days ago when I had a pain in my mouth so bad I went to the dentist to have it checked out.
it ended up being a cavity came out of a molar, but that is all it took.
i purchased 10 cans of this mint leave-non-tobacco product.
I am just over it and this seems to be the ticket. I am just tired of the habit and ready to be over it.

Welcome to QSSN, Mitch. Head over to the December 2008 quit group and introduce yourself to your fellow quitters there. It is made up of quitters in the same general quit period as you. All of you will hit your 100th quit day during the month of December 2008. Read the instructions for posting roll (located right below the link for the Dec 08 quit group) and post roll, giving your promise that you will not use tobacco for that day. This is sort of a daily ritual around here. Quitting forever seems way too daunting. Quitting for a day doesn't seem that bad...anyone can quit for one day. So we make a daily commitment early each day by posting roll call. And once you post roll, do everything in your power to keep your promise that day.
Hang onto that desire to quit. Sometimes after a few days we forget why we originally quit, and start to justify a cave. When your teeth are all healed, don't fall back into your old habit.
If you have any questions or just need to vent, just let us know. Congrats on your first 3 days quit. We look forward to seeing you add more and more days to that number in the weeks and months to come.
