Here is a quick tip you may want to try, especially on day one. If you're having a hard time making it through one day without a fix, try not bringing any cash with you to work. For this to work, you can't have ANY money/cards/checks/change etc. Clean out the change from your car because you will walk in the store with $3 in nickels and pennies if you're a fiend like me (or like I was I should say)

I know you're probably saying, "Oh, come on, how am I supposed to buy lunch, gas, an emergency, etc.!?!" Of course, not bringing any money to work requires a little bit of planning, but if you're willing to quit, you might try:

Packing a lunch the night before
Put enough gas in the vehicle the night before to safely get to and from work.
Get movie tickets the night before and have your girlfriend meet you right after work at the movies (she buys the popcorn/drinks i guess)
If you know there's somewhere you need to go to buy something ahead of time, just bring a single check with the business's name already written on it.
whatever, just be creative

This is especially helpful on day one where its hard to make it past lunch with out a fix. Like I said though, you have to plan ahead. Nicotine is an evil SOB and it will make you stop by the store if you have the cash.

This is a good way to get through an entire 8 hour day plus the time it takes you to commute.

Now if you work around people who chew/dip, you might have a little bit of a problem. Try to get the support of those around you; not wanting to fail in front of them might be the external motivation you need.

You might be reading my info and see that I just quit today and you're saying, "screw this guy, he just quit today." And I accept that judgement, but this is the umpteenth time I've quit, and I've learned alot each time. The times that I quit the longest, like for a year, I tried stuff like this to get me through.

I LOVE this idea. I did this for my first week and now I have turned it into a habit. I almost NEVER leave my house with anything in my pockets except my driver's license and keys. I bring my lunch to work everyday now. I have been quit for a month and I have already saved a shit load of money. Whenever i went into a c-store to buy chew I would always have to buy something else...a drink (which would ultimately become the spitter), and usually some kind of shitty junk food snack or multiple shitty junk food snacks. I'm sure others here trying to quit have a daily routine similar. Now i go days and days without spending any money at all. I don't go into c-stores at all anymore unless im traveling. Plus I've actually lost about 5 pounds since I quit.
