A Ramen burger is basically an Asian inspired burger that uses buns made out of Ramen noodles.

Cook the noodles, form them into a "bun", chill the bun, pan fry the bun and make a burger.

The quote button worked for me this time.

While I have not tried a ramen burger, I did get a burger with two cheese enchiladas and guac on Wednesday night. Freaking delicious! Of course it is all in the execution of things like that. The main elements of the burger would have been great all by themselves so to combine them was spectacular.

Also, I make it to Lockhart again on Saturday and stopped at Smitty's. What made it even better was that we didn't plan it that way. My son and I were navigating on the fly around Austin traffic south toward our destination and realized that our newest route was taking us right through Lockhart. Usually I have to go way out to the way to hit a place like that. It was great, although it looks like they have a bunch of Millennials running the place. I'd rather see some old grizzled pit master at the cutting block.

Windy Roll Call

Bubba - 4888

While the snow totals were disappointing, the wind was not.  It blew hard for a number of hours yesterday into last night.  Back yard had a few inches, side yard had a couple feet, so I guess we got about a foot.  But then it rained a bit and everything froze after that, so about 8 inches of frozen solid shit is now out there.  Glad I cleaned up most of it yesterday.

Man, that seems like a lot of work for "noodles" that taste like dried glue.

"Let's talk about food!

Subby has the BBQ place opened up? Is it any good?

Speaking of BBQ I need to make a trip to Franklin's in Austin.

I also want to make a trip to Snow's in Lexington, TX. They are are only open on Saturday. It appears that it is about an hour outside of College Station.

I have been eating a LOT of tacos. They are popular in Houston. You can get anything you want from any area of the world. We are being told that we are the most culturally diverse city in the US and I believe it.

Has anyone had a Ramen Burger?

Anyone drink sour beers? Farmhouse Ales? Buff? Your Boulevard Brewing turns out some tasty sour beer"

No the BBQ place is still not open.  They do have the required sign up indicating they have applied for a liquor license.  So that is more reason to be encouraged.

I want to go to Snow's too.  I've been to Franklin and have been jonesing to go back. Course there are a lot of places I want to try but getting the time is the hard part.

Tacos:  I had a craving for tacos on Monday but settled for Chinese food instead as it was more convenient and I was in a hurry.  I know there are a lot of good taco places in DFW but sadly most of them are in Dallas proper which I don't get to very often.  I follow "Taco Trail" on Facebook and they have a good recommendations.  I think they are mainly DFW focused but will post stuff about other cities too.  I get the hankering for a taco tour as much I do BBQ.  And I think I could eat more tacos in a day that I can BBQ.

Sour Beer?  Doesn't sound like something I'd like.  Is that anything like an IPA?  There are only a few IPAs I can drink.  Those really really hoppy IPAs are not for me.

Testing the quote button.. Yep, seems to work fine.
