Board Guidelines

By using this site, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

PURPOSE: This forum exists for the sole purpose of helping those who are addicted to smokeless forms of tobacco find the means and support they need to quit this dangerous and highly addictive habit.

  • NO OBSCENE LANGUAGE: Please refrain from using any vulgar, profane or obscene language. This also applies to User Names.

  • NO OBSCENE MATERIAL: Please, no pornographic material or links to it. DON'T DO IT! We have a 0 tolerance policy on this one.

  • NO PERSONAL INSULTS or ATTACKS: We provide this site for our users to elicit and provide support to/from other users. You are free to disagree with others, but be mindful of others opinions. If you stoop to personal abuse or attacks, your post(s) may be modified or deleted. If you ARE insulted please report the post, but DO NOT retaliate.

  • NO TROLLING OR FLAME WARS: Do not Troll and/or attempt to bait others into a flame war.

  • POST IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM: Please read each forum description before posting to ensure you are posting in the correct forum. Off topic posts may be deleted or moved to the correct forum.

  • ILLEGAL SUGGESTIONS: Respect the copyrights of other people, websites, software and printed media. Please no pointers, how-to's, advocating any illegal activity.

  • NO ADVERTISING/SPAM or SOLICITATION: Do not use this site as a redirector or gateway to another site, for the purpose of collecting click income or advertising, or to drive our members to a competing site. Although there are times when a link to another site is necessary for helping or answering a question, this site reserves the right to determine what is and is not SPAM. Any SPAM will be immediately deleted and the user warned. Likewise, this is not your personal "for sale" board to advertise items. There are other sites out there that will allow you to sell your items.

  • NO IMAGES: We have decided to restrict the uploading of any images on our servers. However, you are free to post links to hosted images on your own servers. Please remember, no nudity, or pornographic or obscene material of any kind.

  • SIGNATURES, AVATARS and USER NAMES: While we have allowed the use of signatures as a form of expression, graphics in signatures should be no larger than 100 pixels high by 700 pixels wide. An additional 2 lines of text are allowed but must be size small (size=1). File size should be no greater than 150KB this includes any text or images used in your signature. Signatures outside this limit will be edited and/or removed. Signatures, Avatars and User Names are bound by the same rules as posts/threads.

  • PRIVATE MESSAGES (PM's): All board rules apply to private messages and emails sent from this forum to other users.

    ENFORCEMENT OF RULES

  • The website owner reserves the right to institute any disclipinary means that he deems necessary, including banning individuals from using this site, with or without warning. For 99.9% of the users of this site, this section is unnecessary because you'll never find yourself subject to enforcement. However, for the select few that push, the board has instituted a due process mechanism under a three strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of three times for any and all offenses in a three month period. If the need arises for a fourth warning a temporary ban will be put in place of between 1 to 7 days.

  • Arguing with team members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.

  • Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the relevant team leader, e.g. if warned by a moderator you should contact the board Admin, his decision is final. Contacting group members over warning matters should be done so as a very last resort ... group members do not want to be bothered unless vital.

  • Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account to evade an email ban. Circumvention includes posting as an anonymous user.

  • An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact team members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.

  • Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While we may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.

  • The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is, of course, up to Team Members and not users.
